The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to welcome Katie Schmitt, Development & Innovation Specialist at Southeast Service Cooperative, to our March 3 Rochester breakfast featuring a discussion on: “Are You Failure Resilient?”.
As evidenced in the Growth Mindset work of Carol S. Dweck, when people see their abilities are dynamic (growth) versus static (fixed), they are more likely to embrace challenges and persist even through failure. In this discussion, you will take a Failure Resiliency Self-Assessment, which measures failure resiliency in the following themes: mindset, social-emotional skills, workplace culture, strategy, resources, and communication. You will explore ways to increase your resiliency and optimize what is already working. Hands-on learning and group activities will be included so you can connect with others, stay energized, and practice skills with your PEN peers. You will also be introduced to the Creative Edge Community's Failure Autopsy Workbook, which is designed to help you establish a systematic approach to analyzing failure and increase your return on innovation (ROI) individually or in a team.
The discussion is at Woodlake Meeting Center. Continental breakfast will be served from 7:15 to 7:45 with announcements at 7:45 and the presentation from 8:00 to 9:00 am. No cost for members; $30 for non-members.
The discussion will also be made available to view through Facebook livestream (free for all PEN members) and/or video-on-demand ($20 members, $40 non-members; free for Premium/Sponsoring members).
