The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to host an online webinar discussion on Thursday, November 12: “Understanding, Identifying & Mitigating Unconscious Bias.” The discussion will be facilitated by Dr. Sandra Ogunremi, Manager of Spiritual Care Services, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Monument Health in Rapid City. Note that the webinar will be 9:00-10:00 AM CT (an hour later than PEN's normal time), due to the timezone difference with Dr. Ogunremi.
In her talk, Dr. Ogunremi will help participants:
- Understand what biases are and how we process information.
- Identify some of our biases.
- Understand the impact of biases on decision making.
- Build knowledge to move from awareness into action by becoming aware of our biases and mitigating them.
Most of us -- as leaders, professionals, and just people -- understand the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion and realize that we need to make changes to improve our organizations and communities. But change happens at an individual level, so come prepared to understand, identify, and address the unconscious biases we all have.
