Navigating Today's Staffing Challenges -- July 8 PEN Webinar

As we slowly emerge from the challenges of the pandemic, new challenges are emerging.  One of them that seems to cut across most sectors and industries is the (return of) staffing challenges -- finding, engaging, and keeping qualified workers at all levels within organizations.  Exacerbating the challenge is the growing desire of a segment of employees to continue to work from home (Bloomberg reports that 39% of workers -- 49% of Millennials and Gen Z! -- would rather quit their jobs than return to the office).

The Performance Excellence Network — in partnership with the St. Paul Area Chamber and the Wisconsin Center for Performance Excellence — is pleased to host an online webinar discussion on Thursday, July 8: “Navigating Today's Staffing Challenges.”  The discussion will feature three workforce experts:

  • Rita Dibble, Vice President for University Advancement, Metropolitan State University
  • Jinny Rietmann, Executive Director, Workforce Development, Inc. (the Workforce Development Board for Southeast MN)
  • Becky Lauseng, President, Twin Cities Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Director of HR at Conservis (invited) 
    
 

Each speaker will have ~12 minutes to explore (emerging) best practices in recruiting, managing workforce capacity and staffing levels, and engaging and retaining current talent.  They will share insights on innovative partnerships and staffing models, as well as changes in work environment and work system design that creates more staffing flexibility.  After each speaker's prepared remarks, we'll have time for questions and discussion.

As work environments continue to evolve, attracting, engaging, and retaining good employees may be organizations' biggest future challenge.

This session is Thursday, July 8 from 8:00-9:00 CT (optional speed networking and mingling 7:45-8:00), using Zoom MEETING.  Grab your coffee and breakfast, and join us for a rich discussion.  Free for PEN/SPAC/WCPE members; $20 for non-members.
