Building Trust and Stability in time of Uncertainty -- Apr 29 IN-PERSON Twin Ports PEN Discussion

Registration is closed for this event
Great leaders prioritize the well-being of those they serve, especially in times of chaos. By fostering a sense of belonging and care, they provide much-needed stability for their teams. And during times of uncertainty, effective communication becomes critical.

The Performance Excellence Network is pleased to host an IN PERSON discussion on Tuesday, April 29 from 8:00-9:00 in the Twin Ports: “Building Trust and Stability in time of Uncertainty.”  The discussion will feature leaders from St. Louis County and eFund.

The neuroscience of trust and the role of the brain’s “DOSE” chemicals (dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins) help build a supportive, grounded, and psychologically safe workplace culture. Participants will learn how to cultivate an environment where people feel valued, secure, and empowered to thrive.  Specifically, the session will include:

  • An introduction by Michelle Nelson at St. Louis County, focusing on the importance of leadership during challenging times and the research of Dr. Terry Wu in exploring five “safety signals” for burnout
  • A discussion by Juli Lattner of St. Louis County, focusing on the neuroscience of humans as it relates to building trust, reducing negative bias, and creating work (or personal) environments for people to feel more grounded
  • A discussion by Sandi Larson of eFund to explore the importance of effective, two-way communication during times of crisis to promote transparency, safety, and trust

After the three speakers present opening remarks, we will have time to share with participants good practices in leadership during today’s challenging times.

This session is Tuesday, Apr 29 from 8:00-9:00 AM at St. Louis County Hermantown Training Center (address provided later).  Arrive, network, mingle (yes, you asked for it — you have in person networking!) from 7:30-8:00 (light snacks provided); discussion 8:00-9:00.  Free for PEN members; $20 for non-members.
